had the same problem with my 147 .. it was a fuse problem
Same thing on my GT. Turned out to be the battery.
Battery ... either your battery is dying ... or one of the connections to the battery is a bit loose (on my 156 there is a little box attached to the top of the battery, inside there there are multiple connections ... from memory the one on the right hand side (as you look at the front of the car) ...
My 147's ABS & VDC problem came from the plunger on the brake pedal, it needed adjusting slightly hence it was confusing the car. Guy at the dealers moved it a little with the flat end of a cable tie. Not had it come on at all since he did that and that was 3 years ago.
This error often appears with the cold and damp weather affecting a wheel sensor. The error often appears quickly and then goes off again, or will go off with the first hard application of the brakes. It's up to you whether you want the hassle of trying to trace what's causing it.
In my car it happens randomly and not very often. All I need to do is stop the car, turn it off, turn it on again and the warning is gone. the car is due to have it´s 35,000 kms service in 2 weeks so I will have it checked. The problem tends to happen when is cold and damp
you know when winters here!! Beep Beep VDC System Failure. Touch wood, mine hasn't started yet...... give it time.
