Throttle body injection
Throttle-body injection (called TBI by General Motors and Central Fuel Injection (CFI) by Ford) or single-point injection was introduced in the 1940s in large aircraft engines, (then called the pressure carburetor) and in the 1980s in the automotive world. The TBI system injects fuel at the throttle body (the same location where a carburetor introduced fuel). Gre za bencinski motor z direktnim vbrizgom in turbino. Večina turbo motorjev do nedavnega ni bila z direktnim vbrzigom, a to niti ni toliko pomembno.
Bolj pomemben je hiter razvoj teh motorej. Torej če pogledaš graf krivulje navora starejših turbo motorjev ni primerljiv z novimi.
V planu pa je še izboljšnje tega motorja, ko bo dobil multiair. Prvi bo multiair dobil 1.4 motor, brez tubine in z turbino, o multiairu je bilo zdaj že precej napisanga na forumu. Skratka to bo res neka nova zadeva, turbo in direktni vbrizg pa je že precej stara, kot tudi dizelski motorji, a so razcvet doživeli šele zdaj, podoben razvoj pa zdaj sledi še pri tubo bencinarjih.
