Zelo na kratko: v prostem teku je measured fuel pressure tudi 1500 bar, medtem ko je desired fuel pressure 350 bar. Menjal sem že regulator pritiska goriva, ki je montiran na visokotlačno črpalko, kot tudi senzor pritiska goriva, ki pride na skupni vod. Vse se začelo (najbrž) po menjavi nizkotlačne črpalke za gorivo (v tanku), čeprav avto je sprva normalno deloval 20min v prostem teku in 50min na avtocesti. Koda, ki jo javlja tester, je "P0093" (če avto pustim, da teče v prostem teku).
Daljši opis prilagam kar v angleščini, saj sem isto vprašanje postavljal že po vseh možnih spletnih forumih.
Če ima kdo slučajno kakšno idejo, kaj bi lahko še preveril oz. na koga bi se lahko obrnil? Bosch Diesel Servis sem že klical, in je zelo prijazen gospod povedal, da po njegovih izkušnjah v takih primerih, je bilo vedno nekaj s povratnim vodom ali pa regulatorjem - kar pa sem nekako že izločil.
Danes sem še ugotovil, da pri 2.83% plina drži 450bar (measured in desired) brez problema.
Dodatno:
- nafta pride BP do povratne cevi na črpalki goriva v tanku;
- vse (mehke) cevi okrog visokotlačne črpalke sem preveril eno po eno, pihal skozi "fuel return manifold"
- injection correction values +- 0.8
So I have a 2006 Fiat Stilo 8V Multijet (120hp) with a 1.9l diesel engine, which uses a Bosch common rail injection system. I am getting a reading of up to 1500 bar fuel pressure during idle (!), while the desired fuel pressure is merely around 350 bar - https://youtu.be/iZK_u2Q133w
If I minimally raise the RPMs above idle, the desired and measured fuel pressures track nicely and are capable of being as low as 400bar.
This all started after I replaced the in-tank fuel pump and a relay/fuse block (because the fuel pump fuse melted in the old one). Here is the chronological order of everything that happened:
1. In tank fuel pump died, and fuel pump fuse melted. I replaced the in tank fuel pump and the fuse block (fuel pump was an aftermarket part, the fuse block is the exact same part number with the same year of manufacture as the old one).
2. The car idled for ~20min without a problem and was driven for around 45 min. The power and everything else seemed fine, was able to reach top speed as always.
3. I suddenly get a “check engine” light while stationary at a red light. Upon further investigation, it’s “P0093 - Fuel pressure too high” and I notice that the desired versus measured fuel pressures are almost 700 bar apart (measured is around 1000 bar, desired 350) during idle.
4. I replaced the in tank fuel pump once again, didn’t help. I also unplugged low pressure fuel hoses at various locations (return pipe at the tank, before fuel filter, after fuel filter,…) and verified that fuel indeed moves through the system (the pump primes every time you switch the ignition on, so it’s easy to verify the fuel is getting through).
5. Replaced the fuel pressure regulator (fuel quantity regulator) with a new one, didn’t help (I also visually verified the regulator works by performing the OBD2 test on it while removed from the HP pump)
6. Replaced the fuel pressure sensor with a new one - didn’t help, but the measured fuel pressure during idle became even higher, spiking up to almost 1500 bar.
7. Injection correction values are +- 0.8, which is not great, but also not terrible.

This person changed almost all injection system parts on the car, and it didn’t help. In general this specific code/fault has very few mentions on the internet, and none of the forum threads offer any kind of information if people having them ever found the culprits.
The potentially logical option could be that the high pressure pump got damaged somehow (maybe because I was cranking the car for too long while the in tank fuel pump was dead?), or maybe something with injectors? Another interesting point I read on an another forum was - is the HP pump even capable of producing 1500 bar during idle?
